With a mechanical clamp, you have to open the arms with one hand and place the phone with the other. Here a sensor detects your approach: the arms open, you put the phone down, they close. To take the phone back, the same in reverse. It is a detail — it is also what makes you actually use it on every journey.

No. The infrared sensor is powered by the cable: with no power, the arms stay put and the mount works like an ordinary clamp.

Does the charge go through my case?

Yes for plastic, silicone and thin leather. No for a metal plate or a magnetic card holder stuck to the back: those have to come off.

Is my phone too big?

The clamp takes up to about 8.5 cm wide, case included. That covers the vast majority of phones, large formats included.

Where to fit it?

Two bases are supplied, one for the air vent and one for the dashboard. Place it at eye level without blocking the road.

Do you need a particular charger?

The mount is USB powered, but to reach fast charging you need a cigarette lighter charger with enough power. On a weak socket, charging works but stays slow.
