How to use it safely
- Check that the cover doesn't cover the rear seat belt buckles if you're also carrying passengers.
- Let it dry completely before folding it away: a waterproof cover stored damp quickly starts to smell.
- A cover is not a restraint device: the dog must stay leashed or harnessed.
Check before you buy
- Measure the width of your bench seat: the fit is universal, but city car benches are narrower.
- Check that your headrests can be removed or let a strap through.
- Plan to remove it when carrying passengers in the back.

Description
What the upholstery really takes on
A dog riding in the back doesn’t just leave hair behind: it brings in water, dirt, sand, and its claws mark the fabric every time it resettles. On a three-year-old car, it shows at resale. The cover takes all of this instead of the seat.
Non-slip, and that’s the key point
A blanket placed on top slides at the first hard brake, and the dog eventually pushes it into a crumpled heap in a corner. The underside of this cover grips the seat fabric, and the straps hold it by the headrests: it stays in place for the whole ride.
Removes in one motion
Two straps to unclip and the bench seat is back to normal. That's what matters on a family car: the cover doesn’t stay on permanently, it's there when the dog is in the car.

When it earns its place
The way back from the walk
Wet dog, paws covered in dirt: this is the ride where the upholstery takes the full hit, and the reason you buy a cover.
Selling the car
Embedded hair and scratched fabric show right away and get negotiated down. The cover protects the car's resale value.
The trip to the vet
A stressed dog moves around, resettles, scratches. The non-slip underside keeps everything from bunching up.
The car that also serves the kids
It comes off in seconds: the bench seat is a bench seat again.
Questions we are asked about this product
Does it stay in place when the dog moves?
This is the point these covers are judged on. The underside is non-slip and two straps hold it in place via the headrests. A simple blanket laid down, by contrast, ends up in a ball at the first braking.
Will it fit my car?
The size is universal and fits the bench seats of sedans, wagons and SUVs. Measure yours if you have a city car, which is narrower.
Can I leave my dog unrestrained on it?
No. A cover protects the upholstery, it doesn't restrain the animal. The dog must stay secured with a seatbelt or harness designed for the car.
How do you clean it?
It's washable, by hand or in the machine, depending on the manufacturer's instructions. Let it dry completely before folding it up.
Can I carry passengers with it in place?
Yes, by removing it, which takes a few seconds. If you leave it in place, make sure it doesn't cover the seatbelt buckles.
